Queue status cards become interactive benchmark filters

Implemented, validated, and live Machine-readable JSON

Executive summary

The Ranked Ideas view in Hiro's Evaluation Observatory now lets an operator click every queue summary card to display only that status.

Waiting, Active, Retrying, Implemented, Rejected, Superseded, and Source Reservoir are all accessible buttons with a visible selected state and programmatic pressed-state semantics.

A persistent Show all control restores the complete queue page, and a status pill always states which subset is visible.

The implementation was committed promptly so the continuous-improvement governor continued to observe a clean production repository.

Work completed

Interactive queue filtering

Completed
  • Converted the seven summary cards above Ranked Ideas into semantic button elements without removing their live counts or descriptive notes.
  • Added client-side filter state that persists across the dashboard's periodic data refreshes.
  • Each selected status renders only its matching queue section. Active records include investigating, candidate, testing, and canary states; Waiting remains separate from bounded retries.
  • The unfiltered view renders Active, Waiting, Retrying, Source Reservoir, Implemented, Rejected, and Superseded in their established order.

Reset and accessibility behavior

Completed
  • Added a Show all button next to a live Showing status label. The reset is disabled when the complete view is already selected and enabled for every filtered view.
  • Added aria-pressed values, keyboard focus styling, hover feedback, and a distinct active-card border so mouse and keyboard users receive equivalent state feedback.
  • Added the previously missing Superseded count card so every rendered queue outcome has a direct filter.

Regression and browser validation

Completed
  • Added focused source-contract tests covering all seven filters, semantic button state, and the Show all reset.
  • Tested the live local Observatory by clicking Waiting and Rejected, verifying that each produced only its direct matching section, and then restoring all seven sections with Show all.
  • Verified that the browser console recorded no errors during filtering and reset.

Decisions and reasoning

Validation and evidence

CheckStatusResult
Focused filter and model-dashboard tests passed Fourteen tests passed, covering the new queue controls and the existing independent model benchmark views.
Waiting filter passed Clicking Waiting set aria-pressed to true, changed the label to Showing waiting, enabled Show all, and left Waiting queue as the only direct queue-section heading.
Rejected filter passed Clicking Rejected set its pressed state and left Rejected as the only direct queue-section heading.
Show all reset passed Show all restored Active, Waiting queue, Bounded retries, External lead reservoir, Implemented, Rejected, and Superseded representations, then disabled itself and displayed Showing all records.
Browser console passed No browser errors were recorded during live interaction testing.
Full Hiro repository suite passed All 578 tests passed in 191.48 seconds.
